Why the hell I'm even up this late, I have no idea.

Life's been...interesting. It's been over a year since I updated the journal here, so I'm not even going to bother going over details for everything that's happened. To say the least...reality happened, I've been introduced to several (a whole lot, rather) new fandoms, worked on costumes, and even held down a job at a doctor's office for a few months. Who'd have thought? Will be going to try to get my driver's license in a few days, at least. Am also making plans to try to go for more than one day to Tokyo in Tulsa at the beginning of August, but we'll see how that works out.

At least I have a few things worthy of updating with, though. Sort of. I've been into Death Note for the past few months, and even scrounged together a Near costume and bought the wig. But since Near's fairly simple by himself, I couldn't just stop there...so I made/bought props. LOTS of props, since he's almost always seen with something different. I made his L mask, I made his tarot card and black die with the skull, and I even went as far as to buy the finger puppets. I'm still on the lookout for old Lego people I can paint.

Obsessed? Me? Of course. I can rarely go through a fandom without. And it doesn't hurt to have people willing to be dorks alongside me. I've gotta say, it's a lot of fun running around my university's campus dressed up as Near with someone else dressed up as Light.

I also finally started working on a costume of Garnet, from Final Fantasy IX. I've been telling myself for years that one day I'd make a costume of her, but haven't quite gotten around to it. I even bought boots for it around October or November last year, but I finally got to working on it this summer. It's not quite finished yet, as a few things (i.e. THAT DAMN PENDANT) are giving me trouble, but I do have a picture of her large prop: the Healing rod, one of her in-game weapons. Which looks way too Christmas-y colored, and wasn't intentional, but whatever. I can always repaint it if I need to.

But I have lots of pictures, and close-ups of some of the props while they were in progress. Those should be uploaded to DA soon, if I'll stop being lazy. After that...I just need to motivate myself to actually write or draw something, so I can get back into that.
